About "The Green Research Project"
In April 2023, Esteem Publication launched the pilot of The Green Research Project, an initiative aimed at fostering climate change research among undergraduate students, with a strong emphasis on integrating social science perspectives into sustainability research.
Since concluding the pilot phase in October 2023, the project has seen significant growth and impact. We have now collaborated with over 100 young researchers across 14 diverse research initiatives in universities throughout India. These collaborations span multiple disciplines but are unified by a common goal: bridging the gap between social science and sustainable development research.
The pilot phase began at Maharaja Sayajirao University with a core team of 22 Research Associates. Building on its success, we are now in the process of expanding this model nationally. Our vision is to establish dedicated student-led research clubs in major universities across the country. These clubs will serve as active platforms for students to engage in hands-on research, supported by structured training, expert mentorship, and access to academic publishing pathways.
In 2020, Vedant Bhrambhatt our Research Head for this project gave a TEDx talk, on integrating psychology in the field of climate change awareness. Central idea for this talk was to switch our focus on alternative ways of fighting climate change. Over the past three years, this idea had matured and “The Green Research Project” is the first step towards integrating climate change and psychology.
We provide end-to-end support—guiding students through research design, methodology, and execution, and ensuring that their work is reviewed by qualified academic professionals before publication. Our long-term aim is to cultivate a new generation of researchers equipped to tackle climate issues through an interdisciplinary and socially conscious lens.
